What to Keep in Your First Aid Kit

We all know that accidents or medical emergencies can happen quickly, so it’s best to be prepared! Here’s a list of the top supplies to keep in your Pet First Aid Kit!

  • Self Adhering Bandages to wrap wounds
  • Gauze
  • Tweezers (you might need to pull a splinter, or a tick!)
  • Saline (can be used as an eye wash, or to flush a wound)
  • Benadryl (for allergic reactions – please consult with your vet before use)
  • Hydrogen Peroxide (to induce vomiting if your dog has ingested something they shouldn’t have. Please consult with your vet before use)
  • Disposable gloves
  • Digital Thermometer
  • Plastic syringe (if you need to flush a wound, or administer oral liquids)
  • Betadine solution (antiseptic wash)
  • Antibiotic Ointment
  • Styptic powder (useful if your pet breaks a nail, will help stop bleeding)
  • Muzzle (if your pet is in pain, this might be the safest way to handle him/her to avoid a bite)
