Country Club Pet Resort, a family-owned and operated facility, is one of the largest pet boarding facilities in Canada. Our property spans over 40 acres of beautiful countryside, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains.

By offering an all-inclusive resort experience, our fully qualified pet care technicians can cater to your pet’s every whim. At Country Club Pet Resort, we are a proud supporter of the LESA program (livestock emotional support animals) for animals (chickens, ducks, pigeons, etc.) who can no longer be cared for by their owners in the program. Our sanctuary provides a comfortable space for them to live out their lives.
Humble beginnings
Our story begins three generations ago, when Jack Brooks, a professional dog handler and field trial dog trainer, first opened Foothills Kennels & Dog School—one of the first dog boarding facilities in Calgary—in the mid-1940s on 58 Avenue S.E.
Chip off the old block
Following in Jack’s footsteps, his son, Don, opened the first professional dog grooming salon on 2nd Street S.E. in Calgary in 1959. As business grew, he moved his salon to a larger location on 17th Avenue S.W. Don was also a professional dog handler, breeder, and field trial dog trainer.
New location
In 1962, Don and his wife, Marlene, opened the Calgary Pet Hotel in Midnapore, Calgary. As Calgary grew and the city took over Midnapore, they decided to move to a new location. The Brooks’ settled down east of Calgary near Indus in 1982 (at our current location), where they opened the Country Club Pet Resort.
Passed down
Country Club Pet Resort is now owned and operated by Wendy Brooks, Don and Marlene’s daughter.
